Auto-Hunt

Auto-Hunt automates combat for you: moving, attacking, summoning, Corpse Explosion and Reaper Form. It’s available from the start, and with Auto-Advance on it also picks level-up cards and Dark Pacts and keeps descending floor after floor. Auto-Hunt simply follows a fixed set of priorities, though — knowing what to hand over and what to do yourself gets you far more out of the same time.

  1. Tap the options button on the battle screen to open the Battle Menu. While it’s open, both combat and the time limit are paused.

  2. Under Automation, switch on Auto-Hunt at the top. While it’s on, the options button pulses red.

  3. Adjust Auto-Advance and the individual skill toggles if you like. Tapping anywhere on a row flips its toggle.

  4. Tap Resume, or tap outside the menu, and automatic combat starts right away.

  • Settings are saved automatically and carry over to your next battle and your next session.
  • Besides the automation toggles, the Battle Menu holds the Combat Report, Power Save and Retreat to Town buttons.
Toggle What it does Starts as
Auto-Hunt The master switch for all automation. While it’s off, none of the toggles below do anything. Off
Auto-Advance Handles level-up cards, Dark Pacts, reward reveals and the clear screen for you. On
Auto Summon Summons your deck’s minions onto corpses automatically. On
Auto Devour Absorbs corpses you aren’t using for summons to fill the Reaper gauge. On
Auto Detonate Aims Corpse Explosion where several corpses have piled up. On
Auto Reaper Transforms into the Reaper when the gauge is full and enemies are nearby. On
Savor Rewards On: reward reveals play briefly before moving on. Off: they’re skipped almost instantly. On

Turning off a skill toggle lets you use just that skill yourself while the rest stays automated. For example, switch off only Auto Detonate and summoning and absorbing stay automatic while you time the explosions.

  • Speed: The speed button on the battle screen switches between 1X and 2X. You don’t need to open the Battle Menu to change it, and the setting carries over to your next battle. At 2X, the grace time before your combo breaks shrinks by the same ratio, so the challenge feels the same.
  • Power Save: Covers the screen in black and cuts frame rate and sound to save battery and heat. Auto-Hunt keeps running; double-tap the screen to come back.
  • Combat Report: Shows the damage dealt, damage taken and contribution of each of your deck’s three minion types this battle, and puts a crown on the top contributor. Handy for seeing which minions pull their weight when you rework your deck.

At every moment Auto-Hunt checks these conditions from the top and performs the first one that applies.

  1. Avoid danger: If you’re standing inside a boss’s area attack marked on the ground, it stops attacking and runs to the nearest way out.
  2. Leave the starting area: On entering a floor, it first walks into the first area.
  3. Hold the ward: If the final challenge is Survive, it holds the center of the ward and fights only the enemies that come inside.
  4. Keep the legion together: If a teleport left your minions behind, it calls the stragglers back to your side.
  5. Engage: It fights nearby enemies. If an enemy that just hit you is close, it targets that one first, and orders your minions to focus the same target.
  6. Chase: With no enemy nearby, it follows the path to the remaining enemies and teleports ahead when they’re far away.
  7. Detour: With no enemies around, it visits unopened cages, battle chests and field altars, closest first. Anything along the way to a fight is picked up in passing.
  8. Boss and exit: Once the floor has no enemies left, it heads for the boss — or, if there’s no boss, for the exit.
  • Summoning always comes first. Among the ready slots, it summons the one that needs the most corpses. While an elite slot is gathering corpses, it holds back Absorb and Corpse Explosion so they don’t steal them.
  • When there’s nothing to summon, it absorbs to fill the Reaper gauge.
  • It only uses Corpse Explosion when several corpses are inside the aiming ring.
  • It uses Reaper Form when the gauge is full and enemies are crowded around you.
  • When it finishes off a group and moves on, it summons with or absorbs any leftover corpses instead of leaving them to rot.
  • Grab the joystick and you’re in manual control instantly. Let go, and Auto-Hunt takes over again shortly after.
  • Auto-Hunt stops and shoots once it picks a target, so use the joystick briefly only when you want to pull enemies somewhere or break out of an encirclement.
  • To choose level-up cards and Dark Pacts yourself, turn off only Auto-Advance. Combat stays automatic, and it simply waits for you whenever a choice window appears.

This only works while both Auto-Hunt and Auto-Advance are on.

Situation Auto-Advance’s choice
Level-up cards If a card you sealed with the Seal of Memory is offered, it takes that first. Otherwise it takes the first card.
Dark Pacts Takes the pact with the lowest threat; among equally safe pacts, the one with the best rewards.
Reward reveals Presses continue for you. With Savor Rewards on, it lets them play briefly first.
Clear Descends to the Next Floor. On floors where the story sends you home, it picks Return to Village.
Failure Retries the same floor once.

Always taking the first card tends to scatter your build. If you’ve settled on a direction, pick cards yourself on the floors that matter. Card types are explained in Floors, Combo & Grades.

  • If you fall on the same floor twice in a row, Auto-Hunt switches itself off. This safety net keeps you from wasting time on endless retries. Adjust your deck and gear, then turn it back on.
  • When the story needs you back in the village, Auto-Advance picks Return to Village — for example after your first clear or on a floor where you rescued an ally.
  • When it’s time to suggest Reincarnation, or when Siege opens for the first time, it returns to the village once per game session to show you. Check the message and head back down, and Auto-Hunt carries on as before.
  • With Auto-Advance off, it stops and waits for you at every level-up card, pact and clear screen.

Tap Retreat to Town in the Battle Menu and confirm to abandon the battle on the spot and return to the village.

  • All loot that dropped so far is kept and arrives in the village.
  • You didn’t clear the floor, so there are no clear rewards and no grade.
  • Even if you opened a cage, the rescue only counts once you clear that floor — don’t retreat on a rescue floor.
  • Leave it on floors you clear comfortably. Auto-Hunt judges danger more slowly than a person. Repeating a floor you clear reliably earns more in the end than one where you keep falling.
  • Don’t farm only one floor. The more you repeat the same floor on the same day, the smaller its rewards become. That reduction lifts when the day changes, so rotate between several floors.
  • If you want a specific minion’s fragments, set that minion with Set Farming Focus on the stage selection screen and pick a zone where it appears. See Zones & Affixes for details.
  • Mind your grades. Floors cleared with Auto-Hunt record grades just the same. Farming floors where you don’t have the top grade yet also earns Essence of Conquest each time you improve a grade.
  • Use an Auto-Hunt-friendly deck. Elite slots have to wait for corpses to gather, so mixing in normal minions keeps corpses from going to waste. See Commanding the Legion for deck building.
  • Turn off Savor Rewards to cut the waiting time between floors.
  • For long sessions, save battery with Power Save.
  1. Auto-Hunt is on but you never leave the floor. Turn on Auto-Advance too, or it won’t descend.
  2. Auto-Hunt keeps turning off. It switches itself off after falling twice in a row on the same floor. Check your deck and gear.
  3. You keep eating boss area attacks. Auto-Hunt reacts late to ground warnings. Dodge them yourself in boss fights.
  4. Your level-up cards are a mess. Without a sealed card on offer, Auto-Advance takes the first card. Pick yourself when your build matters.
  5. Pact rewards always seem small. Auto-Advance picks the safest pact. Choose yourself for bigger rewards.
  6. Retreating on a rescue floor. The rescue only counts once you clear the floor.
