Doran's Mine & Golems
Rescue Doran the miner on floor 12 and Doran’s Mine opens in the village. The mine does two jobs. It runs the Tomb Bell, an away reward that gathers gold, essence and ore while the game is closed, and it leads to the Forge of the Colossus, where you spend that ore on a golem — a companion that costs no Command. Your golem joins you in the labyrinth and in Siege, and in the village it digs at the mine entrance.
Opening Doran’s Mine
Section titled “Opening Doran’s Mine”- Rescue Doran: Doran the Miner is caged on floor 12. Kill the guards to open the cage, then clear that floor to the end to confirm the rescue.
- Entry: after the rescue, tap the Doran’s Mine entrance in the village to open the mine window. Tapping Doran or the golem standing at the mine works too.
- Sign: when there’s a haul waiting, the entrance sign reads Haul ready. If a haul is waiting when you come back to the game, the mine window may also open on its own.
The Tomb Bell: rewards while you’re away
Section titled “The Tomb Bell: rewards while you’re away”- It gathers only while the game is closed or in the background. Time spent playing doesn’t count, and very short trips away don’t count either.
- Each absence can only gather so much. When it hits the limit, you’ll see Spoils at capacity and nothing more piles up, so check in often.
- Gold and essence always come in. Ore only comes in when you’ve forged a golem core and a golem is in the mine. With better tools you may also discover gear or minion fragments.
- The amount of gold and essence follows the deepest floor you’ve cleared this life. Right after a reincarnation your income drops, then recovers as you descend again. Tools, ore and Forge upgrades are kept through reincarnation.
Choosing a depth
Section titled “Choosing a depth”Pick a depth under Choose the depth in the mine window before you leave, and it applies to your next absence — you’ll get the result as soon as you return. If you didn’t preset one, compare the results on the Choose a mining route screen when you come back and pick one.
| Depth | What it does | When to pick it |
|---|---|---|
| Shallow Seam | Lots of Rough Ore, few rare ores. | When leveling Frame and Might |
| Deep Seam | Less in total, but plenty of Refined Ore and Soul Ore. | When thresholds, new cores or core awakening are blocked |
| Collapsed Shaft | Balanced ore plus a higher chance of gear and minion discoveries. Available from the Cursed Pickaxe on. | When you’re after gear or fragments |
Claiming: Claim Spoils and Dig Deeper
Section titled “Claiming: Claim Spoils and Dig Deeper”- Claim Spoils: collect your gold, essence, ore and discoveries.
- All rewards ×2: pay gems to double every reward.
- Dig Deeper: a free gamble on your discoveries only. On success, a discovered item’s grade goes up or you get more minion fragments; on failure, you lose the discoveries. Gold, essence and ore are always safe, and you can keep trying as long as you keep succeeding.
Mining tools
Section titled “Mining tools”Upgrade your tools permanently under Mining tools in the mine window. Each upgrade costs gold and requires a clear record down to a certain depth (in your current life).
| Tool | What the upgrade brings |
|---|---|
| Old Spade | Your starting tool. |
| Iron Pickaxe | More gold, essence and ore. |
| Cursed Pickaxe | Even more yield, and you start discovering gear. Unlocks Collapsed Shaft. |
| Soul-Eating Pickaxe | More yield, and you also discover minion fragments. |
| Golden Skull Pickaxe | The final tool, with the highest yield and discovery chance. |
Your tool tier also boosts how much you mine from ore rocks in the labyrinth.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Once Doran is rescued and a golem is in the mine, a notification is scheduled when you leave the game. When the bell is full, you’ll get The lantern has burned out. Coming back to the game cancels scheduled notifications.
The Forge of the Colossus
Section titled “The Forge of the Colossus”Open the Forge of the Colossus from the Doran’s Mine window (tap the Forge button or the golem card). This is where you strengthen your golem with ore. Just follow the order shown at the top of the Forge screen.
-
Forge a free core. Pick one of the sigils below to forge your first core. The first core is free, it’s equipped right away, and your golem appears.
-
Claim offline ore. With a core, your golem mines ore during your next absence. Collect it with Claim Spoils when you return.
-
Strengthen your golem. Spend ore to raise Frame and Might, and Awaken your core.
| Ore | Used for |
|---|---|
| Rough Ore | The basic fuel for every Frame and Might level. |
| Refined Ore | Needed for the threshold that comes every few levels. |
| Soul Ore | Forging new cores, Awakening cores and grafts. |
Ore is only spent at the Forge. Besides Doran’s Mine (when a golem is there), you can get it from ore rocks in the labyrinth. Stand next to one and it’s mined automatically; with your golem beside you, it’s faster and yields more. You don’t need a core to mine ore rocks.
Frame and Might
Section titled “Frame and Might”- Frame raises your golem’s max health; Might raises its attack. Your golem also grows bigger as it passes Frame thresholds.
- Every level costs Rough Ore, and thresholds also need Refined Ore. You don’t have to raise both — a sturdy wall and a glass cannon are both valid choices.
- Special abilities unlock at certain levels.
| Track | Ability | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Frame | Unyielding | Your golem gets back up faster after falling. |
| Frame | Reignite | Once per battle, it gets back up almost instantly after falling. |
| Frame | Colossus | Immune to knockback and stun. |
| Might | Sunder | Melee hits splash damage to nearby enemies. |
| Might | Relentless | Shorter attack interval. |
| Might | Shatter | Melee kills stun every enemy nearby. |
Cores and golem types
Section titled “Cores and golem types”Your core’s type decides your golem’s type. You equip one core at a time, so you have one golem. You can switch between forged cores for free at any time, and each core keeps its own level. From the second core on, cores are forged with Soul Ore.
A core’s level is your golem’s ability tier (T1 to T3). Awaken a core with Soul Ore to unlock its next ability.
| Golem | T1 | T2 | T3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Golem | Bleed & Leech — hits cause bleeding and leech health, part of which also heals your hero. | Blood Fury — gains damage and attack speed when your hero’s health runs low. | Blood Pools — kills leave pools of blood behind. |
| Shadow Golem | Mark Vulnerable — marked enemies take more damage. | Shadow Step — warps to enemies and slows the area where it lands. | Void Shatter — killing a marked enemy bursts into void shards. |
| Hellfire Golem | Stunning Blows — hits stun. | Fire Nova — periodically engulfs its surroundings in flame during melee. | Hellfire Crater — killing a stunned enemy leaves a burning crater. |
| Frost Golem | Cold Aura — slows nearby enemies. | Freezing Nova — periodically slows everything around it heavily. | Blizzard Zone — drops ice spikes and widens its aura. |
- Once the total level of your forged cores is high enough, lower-tier cores borrow a higher tier’s abilities (shown dimmed on screen).
- The Advanced section holds grafts and smelting. A graft borrows a weaker copy of another forged core’s T1 on-hit effect; graft slots open as Frame and Might reach certain levels. Smelting turns Rough Ore into Refined Ore, and Refined Ore into Soul Ore.
How golems behave
Section titled “How golems behave”- They cost no Command. As long as you have a core, your golem is always at your side in the labyrinth and in Siege.
- Enemies can attack it. When it falls, it gets back up on its own beside your hero after a while, and it slowly regains health when out of combat.
- Its attack and health are based on your hero’s attack and health, shaped by the golem type and its Frame and Might levels. Better hero gear makes a stronger golem.
- It follows your Rally commands along with your minions.
- In the village it stands in front of Doran’s Mine hammering at the wall. Tapping it also opens the mine window.
Miner golems: your core changes what you mine
Section titled “Miner golems: your core changes what you mine”The golem of your equipped core is the one that mines. The core type doesn’t change the total you mine — only what you get more of. Core level doesn’t matter.
| Equipped core | You get more |
|---|---|
| Blood Golem | Rough Ore |
| Shadow Golem | Gear and minion discovery chance |
| Hellfire Golem | Refined Ore |
| Frost Golem | Soul Ore |
- The result is based on the core you had equipped when you left. Equip the core that matches the ore you need before you go.
- Higher Might yields a little more Rough Ore. Frame doesn’t affect mining.
- Forge your first core as soon as Doran is back. Without a core the mine yields no ore and you have no golem.
- Set depth and core before you leave. Pick the depth for whatever you’re short of, and equip the core that mines more of it — this makes a big difference.
- Dig Deeper only as far as you dare. A failure costs you the discoveries, never your gold, essence or ore.
- Don’t walk past ore rocks in the labyrinth. You can gather ore while you play, too.
- Lower income after a reincarnation is normal. Descend again and the Tomb Bell’s income returns. See Reincarnation.
- Your golem fights beside you in Siege as well. Siege
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”- Having no golem. You need to forge your first (free) core at the Forge of the Colossus.
- The Tomb Bell isn’t filling. Time with the game open doesn’t count. Close the game or send it to the background.
- Leaving it full for a long time. Once it hits the limit, nothing more piles up.
- Getting zero ore. Without a golem (core) in the mine, you only get gold and essence.
- Tool upgrades are blocked. Tool upgrades check your clear record in the current life. After a reincarnation you need to reach that depth again.
